IGRINS has no moving parts, and offers near-infrared spectra between 1.45-2.45μm high-resolution (R=50,000). The slit size in the spectral direction is 0.34ʺ, and in the spatial direction is 5ʺ. The plate scale on the imaging detector is ~0.041"/pix, and ~0.091"/pix in the spatial direction of the 2-D spectrum. An example of reduced 2D spectra are shown below.

Guiding

IGRINS uses the P2 WaveFront Sensor for guiding. However, in exceptional circumstances, targets with bright guide stars have used the P1 WaveFront Sensor for guiding.
