OT Release Notes: Abeja
|
The Abeja version of the Observing Tool was publicly
released on 15 June 2006. An
updated version (3.5) was released on 30 June 2006 which fixes problems
with the GNIRS instrument component and GMOS-S IFU nod & shuffle
field visualization. Summarised below are the most significant changes
from the previous public release (Pulga) for off-site users:
- Modified instrument components and iterators
- Laser guide star mode natural guide star mode available in the Altair Adaptive Optics component.
- Instrument components have been added for TEXES, NICI, and Flamingos-2.
- The
GCAL filter list has been updated to reflect filter changes.
Filters ND1.6, ND5.0, and HROS balance filters have been replaced
with ND2.0, ND4-5, and NIR balance.
- GNIRS read mode is now set automatically using the exposure time. The automatic setting can be overridden.
- Slit widths and lengths for Michelle have been updated to their correct values.
- Efficiencies updated for T-ReCS and Michelle
- Added "Block" to T-ReCS filter list.
- User interaction and user interface features
- File attachments can be uploaded and downloaded. Finding charts and mask design (ODF) files should be submitted in this way.
- SIMBAD coordinate queries in the target component now also return proper motions.
- Groups
now come in two types: scheduling groups (included observations
scheduled together) and organizational folders (included observations
scheduled independently). The type is set with a flag in the
group component.
- 20%-tile CC constraint removed.
- Elevation constraints, mininum and maximum airmass or hour angle, can be added after appropriate approval
- Timing window constraints can now be given to observations.
- Added Inactive observation status. This is for observations that are
no longer needed but shouldn't be deleted. For example, once a
Scheduling Group is complete any remaining calibration observations can
be set to Inactive.
- The Position Editor has an Images button for quick queries of the default image server.
- Rapid ToO triggers are now possible via a URL interface.
