OT Release Notes: Vinchuca

The Vinchuca version of the Observing Tool was first publicly
released on 8 June 2007. The most significant changes
from the previous public release (Avispa) are summarize below:
- Modified instrument components and iterators
- Michelle: filter list updated
- T-ReCs: default nod dwell time changed from 30 seconds to 45 seconds
- NIFS: Mask Offset parameter active for all masks
- User interaction and user interface features
- Phase II checking rules implemented
- General rules in place for all queue instruments
- Instrument specific rules available for GMOS-N/S, NIFS, NIRI, and Michelle
- When
enabled (the default) checking is automatic. After a change is made to
a component you may need to click 'Save' at the bottom of the screen
for the rules to be re-applied.
- The existence of warning or erros will not prevent any fetch/store actions at this time.
- Updates to the current rules and new rules for T-ReCS, GNIRS, and new instruments will occur periodically.
- Auto-updating
feature - the OT can download and install updates and update the local
database for single-user installations. Multi-user or site installations should continue to install the OT from the distribution files.
- Key commands use the Cmd key on Mac OS X.
- Information from the new Phase I Band 3 tab is included.
- NGO check box in the file attachment tab for NGO checking of finding charts and mask designs.
- Various small bug fixes and performance improvements.
The 17 July 2007 Vinchuca update includes the following changes:
- Improvements to the Phase II checking rules
- Instrument-specific checks for T-ReCS
- Updated general rules and rules for NIRI, NIFS, and Michelle
- Corrected bug in Band 3 conditions checks
- The field of the Altair natural guide star wavefront sensor is now displayed in the Position editor.
- Modified instrument components and iterators
- Corrected Qa filter wavelength for Michelle
- Added 30 minute acquisition overhead for Phoenix
- Various other small improvements.
