GMOS-S Fringing in the red

The GMOS-S CCDs have significant fringing in the red. This page shows examples of fringe frames in imaging mode in the i'-filter and the z'-filter as well as science data before and after correction for the fringing.

The fringe frames shown on this page were obtained the night of July 18-19, 2003, during the commissioning of GMOS-S, during dark time, and in photometric conditions (data not released).  Recent GMOS-S  2x2 binned i'-filter and z'-filter fringe frames are available (28 Mb FITS images).
