Calibration Data Retrieval

Calibration frames that are shared among programs are not included with the PI package. Some of the relevant processed calibrations (and the corresponding raw frames) associated with a science program can be found and retrieved using the "Search for Processed Calibrations" query page. In case the desired calibration observation is not found, PIs are requested to follow the instructions below.

GMOS-N and GMOS-S MOS Mask Definition Files:

For MOS programs only, if the MDF (Mask Definition File) is not included in the PI package, please follow this instructions to locate and retrieve the MDF from the GSA. Not all existing MDFs have been ingested yet, particularly for 2005A or earlier semesters programs. If you cannot locate the required file, please use the HelpDesk to contact Gemini. MDF files are small and can be send by e-mail.

Raw Calibration Data:

The table lists the instrument modes and associated calibrations that fall under this category. If your program/observation belongs to any of them, please follow the links for detailed instructions. Note that the GSA does not (yet) provide observing logs for the shared calibrations. To obtain those, follow the links on the Processed Calibration Data table (below).

Processed Calibration Data and Obslog

The observing logs for all observations taken under CAL programs can be found following the links below. Processed calibration frames for some instrument modes can be retrieved from the archive. The GMOS calibrations are mostly reduced once per moon-phase, around full moon. The reductions include all calibrations taken in the previous moon period. Please check the observing logs to identify the appropriate date and configuration.
