The following data was obtained during the Science Verification runs in 2015. Please feel free to download and use, as long as you mention the instrument and the software Opera which was used for the reduction.
CAUTION: Most of the spectra were obtained in the early phase of GRACES. The headers may not always be conform to the current standard.

Feige R.A.=12:37:23.55 Dec.=25:04:00.3 GMOS-S still not availableBesides the CCD2 problem reported on February 10th (which still persists), a detector translation assembly (DTA) fault occurred on Tuesday and the mechanism is stil not working. As a consequence, GMOS is still not available un the queue. GS Telescope shutdown on February 21st due to P2WFS repairsIt has been found after extensive troubleshooting that the Peripheral Wave Front Sensor 2 (P2WFS) has a mechanical issue and is out of order. To address this issue the P2WFS will have to be replaced in the telescope by a dummy unit while it is being repaired. We are planning for this intervention starting Monday February 21st and the removal and installation of the dummy unit will take two days and thus the telescope will not be available from the Night February 21st to 22nd. GMOS-S unavailableGMOS-S is unavailable due to the re-appearance of the CTE problem on CCD1, plus high noise structure on CCD2. Troubleshooting started on Monday and is currently ongoing. May 2022 NIFS Temporarily Unavailable at Gemini NorthNIFS is temporarily unavailable at Gemini North. The cold head is being exchanged because the instrument was not holding temperature. We expect the instrument to be available again during the week of January 31. Gemini North Observatory Operations UpdateThe Gemini North secondary mirror xy positioner was successfully datumed on Friday, 21 January 2022. Fine tuning of the mirror alignment is awaiting good natural seeing, in the meantime the elevation restriction on targets has been removed. Gemini North Observatory Restricted OperationsThe secondary mirror of Gemini North Observatory has had a non-functional xy positioner since Tuesday January 4, 2022. Troubleshooting actively continues, however the fault remains unresolved. On the night of Friday January 7, 2022, we started taking data for programs that can handle poor seeing, with targets that reach an elevation greater than 55 degrees. The lack of the xy positioner introduces coma into the images, which is worse at lower elevations. At the higher elevations the coma tail extends about 2 arcseconds, with an average delivered IQ of about IQ85. New Gemini Observatory Agreement SignedMultinational agreement extends operations of the international Gemini Observatory through 2027. |
